Paramedic Career Framework

Manager

A paramedic manager is responsible for overseeing a specific area within an organisation and is accountable for its delivery. Their role may focus on non-clinical duties, such as managing staff, service delivery, or education, or on clinical responsibilities, such as overseeing patient care, clinical audits, or development. In operational management, their line management responsivities will likely be to team leaders, though other managers within another organisation this may be less so, with more focus leadership or management.

In operational management settings, paramedic managers typically hold line management responsibilities for team leaders. However, in other organisational contexts, particularly those outside of frontline operations, their role may place greater emphasis on leadership, strategic planning, or service and clinical development, rather than direct line management.
